NFU Cymru appoints new Group Secretary in Ceredigion & Llandovery

15 Mai 2026

NFU Cymru has recently appointed Malcolm Davies as its new Group Secretary covering Ceredigion and Llandovery.

Malcolm joins the already strong team in the area of Heather Holgate, Dai Morgan, Cathy Davies, Rhys Davies and Carwyn Jones.

Malcolm, from Pembrokeshire, with a background in agriculture, brings both practical and commercial experience into the role.

After studying at Harper Adams University, Malcolm went on to build a successful career with a leading plant and machinery manufacturer, with his roles taking him internationally, including sales, marketing, product development and distribution.

One of his latter roles took him to Australia for four years where he looked after agricultural distribution for both Australia and New Zealand. After the birth of Malcolm and his wife’s first son, they decided to return to the UK to be nearer to family and friends.

Malcolm later established his own machinery dealership in Warwickshire before returning to West Wales.

Speaking about his appointment, Malcolm said: “I am very much looking forward to meeting both customers and members and to further develop these relationships by assisting them on a range of union matters and insurance needs. Working with them to help secure a sustainable future for an industry that we are all passionate about.”

NFU Cymru Director John Mercer said: “I would like to give a warm welcome to Malcolm on behalf of the whole NFU Cymru team. Malcolm is joining a very strong team made up of Heather, Dai, Cathy, Rhys and Carwyn and I am sure under their guidance, he will hit the ground running and continue to be a fantastic support for members in Ceredigion and Llandovery.”
