In this update, Abi discusses the recent developments on Bluetongue control measures and further details announced by Welsh Government.
Since Welsh Government’s written statement on the Bluetongue Virus (BTV) on 12 June, NFU Cymru has been in constant dialogue with the OCVO (Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer) to relay members’ concerns and seek clarity on a number of issues. NFU Cymru and the NFU have also written to the Deputy First Minister highlighting the concern felt by members on both sides of the England and Wales border.
Abi also discusses our work on the Sustainable Farming Scheme, ahead of further details being announced this month, and continues to urge members to speak to their MPs about the impacts of Inheritance Tax to keep the topic high on the agenda.
