Cows on Tour reaches new heights

As part of the campaign to raise awareness of farmers and food production, it would seem Cows really can fly!

The Cows on Tour team will be hitting new heights on 1 April by sending their fibre glass cow down the Zip Wire at Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Leading the way in educating the general public on food production by entering schools and attending shows, the Cows On Tour team tell the farming story from farm to fork. The team are also fundraising for two fantastic agricultural charities, RABI and the DPJ Foundation.

The Zip World Glide will also see Meinir Howells, S4C Presenter and beef and sheep farmer from Carmarthenshire; Kate Beavan Monmouthshire NFU Cymru County Chairman and RABI volunteer; Seimon Thomas,  The Royal Welsh Show feature county President from Pembrokeshire and Mat Shervington-Jones, Cows on Tour Chairman, having a glide too.

Mat Shervington-Jones said: “Cows on Tour’s main aim is to bring farming to the people and we are pulling out all the stops to raise awareness of what farmers do. We all enjoy quality food on our plates and we really hope people take a look at our Facebook page to see the fantastic group of volunteers we have to tell that farming story.

“We would also like to thank all of our amazing sponsors who have contributed towards our week-long tour of Wales from 13 – 19 May where we will be covering the length and breadth of Wales, spreading our fantastic farming message.

“Finally we would like to thank Zip World for embracing this opportunity and hosting us all on the day to get our message out – along the wires.”
