NFU Cymru's Welsh Farming Week 2026 campaign begins

29 Mehefin 2026

Welcome to Welsh Farming Week 2026, a celebration of the people, businnesses and communities at the heart of Welsh agriculture.

Throughout the week, NFU Cymru will be sharing stories from across Wales, showcasing the innovation, passion and dedication that drive our farming industry. From sustainable food production and family farms to rural businesses and the next generation of farmers, we'll be highlighting the people making a difference.

This page is your hub for everything happening during Welsh Farming Week. Check back throughout the week as we'll be adding new stories, videos and features.

What's happening when and where?

Welsh Farming Week 2026 runs from 29 June to 3 July, with this year’s theme focused on Sustainable Food Production.

It’s a jam-packed week, kicking off with our first-ever video reel competition, launched on 8 June. The competition encourages people to showcase what sustainable food production looks like on their farm by creating a reel. Entries could be submitted by tagging @NFUCymru and using the #WelshFarmingWeek hashtag. Check it out here or on our social media pages.

The competition will be judged on the afternoon of Monday 30 June by NFU Cymru President Abi Reader and current Wales Woman Farmer Robbie Alman-Wilson, who brings a strong social media presence.

On Tuesday, we host our annual Sustainable Farming Conference in Abergavenny, led by our Rural Affairs Board Chair, Gary Yeomans. The conference will feature a range of excellent speakers, including Cabinet Minister Llyr Gruffydd and an all female farmer panel. This year also marks the first presentation of the Sustainable Agriculture Award at the conference. You can register to attend the conference here.

On Wednesday, we will take part in a “Cows on Tour” visit to an urban school in Wrexham, North Wales, helping connect young people with farming and food production.
Thursday sees our public-facing event return to Llandudno, North Wales following last year’s great success. This event gives us an opportunity to engage with the public, distribute local Welsh produce, and highlight the importance of shopping locally and supporting Welsh farmers.

We wrap up the week on Friday with a series of regional MS on-farm meetings across Wales. The First Minister, Rhun ap Iorwerth, will attend one of these events on Anglesey.

We do hope that you will be able to support the week of events.
