In this update Abi Reader discusses the very welcome announcement that the Inheritance Tax threshold will be raised from £1m to £2.5m.
Abi also discusses other meetings she's attended this week, including a meeting with the Under-Secretary of State, Anna McMorrin MP who came out for an on-farm meeting. During this meeting the union thanked the Minister for the increase to the IHT threshold and also discussed future funding from UK Government for Welsh agriculture, as well as trade deals with third countries, SPS agreement negotiations and the challenges in the dairy sector.
Finally, Abi encourages members to attend a Presidential elections hustings event next week to meet and question the candidates standing for NFU Cymru President and Deputy President.
