It has been a bruising start to the year – in media terms, at least - for the Welsh and British farming industry. I wanted to use this space to provide NFU Cymru and NFU members with an insight into the continuing work of the union to counter the unbalanced media reporting we are currently seeing from some of our national broadcasters.
Veganism and environmental campaigners – or in many cases extremists – have been filling the column inches of newspapers, taking to the airwaves and going online to promote their own agendas. All too often, though, this one-sided campaigning coverage takes aim at our industry, our work and our values.
