Today (Wednesday 1st April) the Agricultural Wages (Wales) Order 2020 comes into effect replacing the 2019 Order.
The Order provides the terms and conditions that agricultural workers in Wales are to be employed under and the minimum rates of pay for agricultural workers in Wales.
NFU Cymru has prepared a short update on the minimum agriculture wage rates that apply from 1st April 2020, that can be accessed here.
The new rates of pay for Agricultural Workers reflect the rises of the National Minimum Wage(NMW) / National Living Wage (NLW) rates and the advice and recommendations of the Agricultural Advisory Panel.
In summary for a number of grades the increase in minimum wages ensures that the grade meets the requirements of NMW/NLW, for Grades with rates that are above NMW/NLW there is an increase of approximately 2% on 2019 rates.
