A summer evening of community and celebration at Bryn Carrog Farm

A beautiful summer’s evening set the scene at Bryn Carrog Farm as NFU Cymru Clwyd members came together to celebrate their achievements so far this year.

On Friday 31st July, members and their families gathered for a relaxed social BBQ, with delicious food supplied by Swans Farm Shop, creating a perfect opportunity to unwind, connect, and enjoy time together.

“As officeholders, we realised how rarely we come together simply to relax and socialise, so we wanted to host something that would give us that chance,” said Guto Davies, NFU Cymru Clwyd County Chairman.

A chance to combine family and farming life

He added: “Farming has become a lonely occupation of late, and gatherings like this are so important. They give everyone the chance to come together, enjoy themselves, and reconnect. We also know how difficult it can be to balance family time with NFU meetings, so this was a way of giving back to our families for supporting us throughout the year.’

The event was kindly hosted by Ivor Beech of Bryn Carrog Farm, who welcomed members and their families with open arms.

“It was my pleasure to host such an event, and I’m delighted to have met so many of my fellow members’ families,” said Ivor.

Charity raffle

A raffle held during the evening raised £170 for St Kentigern Hospice, St Asaph, a charity providing specialist palliative care for residents across Denbighshire, West Flintshire, and East Conwy. The generosity of members added a meaningful charitable contribution to an already memorable night.

The evening at Bryn Carrog Farm was a reminder of the strength of community within NFU Cymru Clwyd — a chance to celebrate, support one another, and enjoy the simple pleasure of coming together.
