Preparing for a visit from the Health and Safety Executive: notice and interventions

Health and Safety

When you are informed that the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) are coming to visit your farm it is worth making sure that you are adequately prepared for the inspector. This will include things like having all relevant paperwork easily accessible, as the inspector is likely to want to see it, and ensuring your farm is in a presentable state for when the inspector walks around it.

The HSE have a guide and video to help you understand what to expect ‘When a health and safety inspector calls’, available at: https://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/hsc14.htm.
