Rent reviews for Farm Business tenancies: understanding the procedure

Land

This business guide looks at how rent is reviewed for Farm Business Tenancies (“FBTs”). It explains the statutory rent review procedure, how frequently rent can be reviewed, and how any revised rent is calculated.

An FBT is an agricultural tenancy created on or after 1 September 1995. If your tenancy started on or after this date it is likely to be an FBT. There are however some exceptions to this and our business guide “Farm Business Tenancies: an overview”, available at: https://www.nfuonline.com/member-resources/farm-business-tenancies-an-overview/ explains how to identify whether your tenancy is an FBT.
