Love British Chicken – get involved with our new campaign

3 minute read

The NFU is launching a brand new #LoveBritishChicken campaign – a national celebration of poultry farmers and the high-quality British chicken they produce all year round.

British poultry farmers work to some of the highest standards in the world, producing delicious, affordable and fully traceable chicken.

#LoveBritishChicken aims to champion that story and encourage shoppers to choose British chicken over imported alternatives.

Previous NFU poultry campaigns have reached hundreds of thousands of people online. With your support, we can help more people understand the value of choosing British.

The campaign promotes four key messages:

  • Choose British chicken, produced to world-leading standards.
  • Ask your butcher, farm shop or retailer whether their chicken is British.
  • Look out for the Red Tractor logo to guarantee traceability from farm to fork.
  • Understand the benefits of choosing locally produced, high-welfare British chicken.

Love British Chicken Week will take place from Monday 25 May to Sunday 31 May 2026. Here is how you can get involved throughout the week.

3 ways you can get involved

We'll be using social media to share #LoveBritishChicken's campaign messages: Here are three ways to support the campaign on social media:

1 Share details of where people can buy British chicken locally

If you sell from the farm gate or supply independent retailers, share this on your own platforms. Clear, practical information performs well online and helps consumers make confident choices.

2 Reshare our social content, post your own messages or use our ready-made shareable graphics

Tag @BackBritishFarmingNFU on FacebookInstagram and TikTok. Remember to use the hashtag #LoveBritishChicken.

3 Share your story

Tell your story, highlight the standards you meet and help people understand the importance of choosing British chicken.

Live bird imagery is not essential and does not need to be the focus of your posts. Farm settings, team photos, landscapes, food imagery or shots of farm gate signs resonate strongly with wider audiences and are often more accessible for people who do not think about farming day-to-day.
