The Dairy Roadmap was established as a cross-industry sustainability initiative in 2008 by AHDB, NFU and Dairy UK with the primary goal of promoting and improving the environmental sustainability of the entire dairy supply chain, while ensuring the sector remains prosperous.

Since its inception, the Dairy Roadmap has driven continuous environmental improvements across the dairy industry.

The Sustainable Dairy Pathways initiative marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the Dairy Roadmap. The aim of the Pathways Report, which will be published next year, is to provide industry-aligned guidelines on sustainability targets, whilst ensuring farmers and processors have the flexibility to select the methods that best suit their operations.

The report will provide a trusted, third party authored resource to underpin discussions on sustainability and finance, informing future Dairy Roadmap targets for the sector.

Four farmer-focused workshops are being held across the UK and insights gathered during these sessions will play a key role in shaping the Sustainable Dairy Pathways Report. These workshops are your opportunity to ensure that future priorities are practical, impactful, and representative of the whole value chain.

Dairy farmers - have your say

The workshop in Wales will be held on 16 October 10am – 3pm in Hafod a Hendre on the Royal Welsh Showground.

Three other workshops are planned in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. These will be followed by two online sessions and an industry wide survey to ensure all viewpoints are captured.

Dairy farmers from across Wales are welcome to join the workshop which is free to attend.
