NFU Cymru members are invited to the union’s latest event, ‘Driving cost and carbon out of your business’, which will look at ways to reduce carbon emissions on farm.

To be held at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, on Wednesday 4 May at 10am, this event will look at opportunities to reduce energy and input costs and simultaneously lower greenhouse gas emissions by improving energy efficiency, installing renewables, and using nutrients more efficiently.

NFU experts

Those present will hear from NFU experts about the latest best practice and from NFU Cymru members about their on-the-ground experiences. In the afternoon there will also be an optional workshop sessions for members wanting to spend more time getting into practical details and mapping out specific next steps for their farms.

NFU Cymru President, Aled Jones said: “Given current challenges facing the agricultural industry, there’s never been a more opportune time for farmers to look at new ways of capturing carbon and driving efficiencies on farm.

Practical guidance

“This event will give practical advice for farm businesses to implement positive change on-farm and the afternoon sessions will allow farmers to seek personalised information in relation to their own farms.”
