2 January – Changes to Livestock Identification, registration and movement reporting consultation closes

3 January - Farming Connect Skills application window opens

4 January - Animal Health and Welfare Framework Implementation Plan 2022-2024 published

28 January - Farming Connect Skills application window closes

31 January - Closing date for acceptance of Glastir extension/ renewal contracts

1 February - Sheep and Goat Annual Inventory closing date

9 February - TB Eradication programme refresh consultation closes

Basic Payment Scheme 2021

Over 97% of claimants have received BPS Advance payments worth up to 70% of the anticipated final BPS 2021 claim. Subject to completion of the full validation, BPS 2021 balance payments, or full payments for those who have not received an advance payment, will commence from Wednesday 15 December.

Mange My County Parish Holding (CPH)

RPW online customers not transitioned to the new rules are encouraged to map their land using Manage My CPH. ‘Manage My CPH’ enables keepers to view and maintain the land included in their CPH and to create or close a CPH online. The current CPH rules provide consistency across all species and improve the ability to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a disease outbreak. Guidance on CPH and Livestock Movements, including using ‘Manage My CPH’ and an additional e-learning packages is available on the Welsh Government website.

Manage My Land (MML)

Any land changes, be it taking over additional land , changes to field boundaries etc should be submitted within 30 days of the change you are notifying us of taking place. Any changes not submitted in time to be processed will not be pre-populated in your SAF 2022 Failure to report any changes within this timescale could result in the application of penalties and may result in a reduction or exclusion of aid.

Glastir Contracts

Eligible Glastir Advanced, Glastir Commons and Glastir Organic contract holders whose contract is due to end on the 31st December 2021 are being offered extensions. You will need to check your RPW Online accounts regularly.

Sustainable Farming Scheme

Welsh Government has committed to creating a new system of farm support that will maximise the protective power of nature through farming. It will reward farmers who deliver environmental outcomes alongside the sustainable production of food. Welsh Government has announced thier high level plans to deliver this new system. See key milestones below.

Key Milestones until 2025

2022

• Introduce Agriculture Bill to Senedd.

• Publish outline Sustainable Farming Scheme alongside Economic Analysis and Impact assessments.

• Co-Design Phase 2.

2023

• Final Consultation on Sustainable Farming Scheme and transition plan.

2024

• Outreach – Throughout 2024 Welsh Government will engage with farmers to ensure they are ready to open the scheme in January 2025.

2025

• Launch of the Sustainable Farming Scheme.

Further details can be found on the Welsh Government website. To support the farming sector to adapt to these future changes, it is Welsh Government's intention to continue with the Basic Payment Scheme until 2023 and extend Glastir Advanced, Commons and Organics by two years to December 2023.

Herd Register

A new Welsh bilingual holding register for cattle has been produced. You can download a copy of the new register from: Gov.Wales/cattle-herd-register-booklet or if you prefer a pre-printed copy, please contact EIDCymru.

Sheep and Goat movement document (AML1)

The sheep and goat movement document (AML1) has been updated. You will notice some minor differences to reflect the changes being introduced to EIDCymru online. You will still be able to use the old version of the AML1 form whilst stocks remain.
