This year’s new Business Zone on the NFU Cymru/NFU Mutual stand at the Royal Welsh Show will profile how risk management can be applied to farming businesses in order to improve safety, introduce regular training and how to better manage the risks.
Specialist advisers from the NFU Mutual Risk Management Services Ltd will be on hand to provide technical advice and guidance and they work closely with accreditation bodies in order to provide valuable training opportunities and risk management audit reports. The Service can offer:
- Working Safely in Agriculture – A one-day agricultural safety awareness course is accredited to VQ level two through Lantra.
- Managing Risk in Your Business – This service includes a site visit to your farm/premises, a personalised audit report and a prioritised action plan addressing the key issues identified.
- Health and Safety Training – Industry recognised training qualifications are provided by experienced health and safety consultants.
- First Aid – One day and three day courses accredited by Qualsafe.
The Risk Management Service also offers specific and tailor-made sessions such as pre-harvest workshops, risk assessment workshops, manual handling training, fire awareness training and fire warden training, all very relevant to farming and rural businesses.
