New Group Secretary at Carmarthen & St Clears NFU Cymru office

Lowri Roberts, NFU_74225

Lowri Roberts has recently been appointed as a new Group Secretary at the NFU Cymru/NFU Mutual Carmarthen and St Clears offices and will join current Group Secretaries Paul McCarthy and Rhodri Thomas in leading a very professional and enthusiastic team.

Originally brought up on a small sheep farm in Llansannan, North Wales, Lowri has recently moved to a dairy farm in Maenclochog with her partner, Berwyn who she met at Harper Adams University. Lowri has a keen interest in agriculture and enjoys helping on the farm when possible.

Lowri, who graduated from Harper Adams University with a degree in Business Management and Marketing, is no stranger to the NFU Mutual network having joined the company via the graduate scheme. She worked closely with regional sales and gained valuable experience in understanding the insurance industry. In 2018, Lowri was appointed as Sales Development Consultant supporting branches across mid to north Wales before managing the Hay-on-Wye Agency for six months, following the retirement of a long-standing group secretary.

Speaking upon her appointment, Lowri said: “Having worked within the NFU Mutual network for a number of years I am looking forward to the new challenge ahead of me. I look forward to engaging with members and the farming community, dealing with any queries of issues they may have and promoting the great work undertaken by NFU Cymru.”

John Mercer, NFU Cymru Director added: “I would like to welcome Lowri to the NFU Cymru team. She he has a wealth of knowledge having worked within the NFU Mutual network for a number of years and understands the current issues facing farmers. Her previous experience will allow her to provide first class advice and support to our local members on key policy issues.”

The friendly team at Carmarthen and St Clears is made up of 11 members of staff and they are currently recruiting for another. Anyone who would like to meet with Lowri should phone the office on 01994 230898 or 01267 236654.
