NFU Cymru members are invited to join the union’s President John Davies for a farm walk at Ynysgain Fawr, Criccieth by kind permission of John and Sion Hughes and their families.
The event, taking place at 6:30pm on Thursday 16th May, will provide an opportunity for members to see the recently completed milking parlour and associated facilities that the family have put in place at Ynysgain Fawr to streamline the dairy enterprise.
Members making the trip on the evening will be able to enjoy a hog roast from locally produced pork as they learn more about the farming system.
NFU Cymru President John Davies will be at the event and is keen to meet with members from across Mid Gwynedd, whilst NFU Cymru’s Water Quality and Nutrient Management Project Manager Lorna Davies will also be in attendance.
NFU Cymru Mid Gwynedd County Chairman Edwin Noble said: “The investment that John and Sion have undertaken at Ynysgain Fawr is very impressive. This visit provides an excellent opportunity for members to see first-hand how the herd management has improved along with the excellent work they are doing on grassland management.
“We are also fortunate that NFU Cymru President John Davies is able to join us, and I hope that members will take up the opportunity to meet up with John and discuss some of the key issues that are affecting their farming enterprises at the moment.”
All NFU Cymru members are warmly welcomed to the visit but in order to finalise catering requirements it is requested that anyone planning on attending contacts the NFU Cymru office on 01982 554200 or bmZ1LmN5bXJ1QG5mdS5vcmcudWs= by midday on Friday 10th May to register their attendance.
