Members of the NFU Cymru Next Generation Group have met with Lesley Griffiths, the Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Planning and Rural Affairs.
The visit was hosted by Next Generation member Josh Millichap at his farm near Brecon. The meeting focused on the proposals outlined in the Welsh Government’s Brexit and Our Land consultation and their impact on the younger generation of farmers. The group outlined their priorities for future policies. A number of other topics were covered, including water quality and antibiotic use. This is the second time the group has met with the Cabinet Secretary following an initial meeting at the Royal Welsh Show.
After the meeting Josh said: “I would like to thank the Cabinet Secretary for coming to visit my farm and meeting with the group. It is important to discuss the proposals outlined in Welsh Government’s consultation and that our views are heard.”
