Exploring the UK wide consultation on lamb castration and tail docking covering key elements of the consultation and what they could mean in practice

Proposals include:

  • Requiring the use of anaesthesia and analgesia when using rubber rings
  • Prohibiting castration and tail docking on lambs under 24hrs old
  • Allowing only trained and competent stockkeepers to carry out procedures
  • Additional restrictions and legal changes relating to surgical castration, clamp castration, combined method castration and tail docking, clip castration and tail docking, and hot iron tail docking

This webinar provides the opportunity to understand the potential implications for your business, an opportunity to input into the NFU Cymru response to the consultation and will explain how you can respond individually to the consultation.
