Electricity pylons

NFU Energy is hosting a free webinar to help members understand what Ofgem's proposed changes to standing charges are, how they will affect businesses, and what can be done to minimise their impact.

Energy costs are continuing to rise and, with several updates to non-commodity charges underway, many businesses will see electricity bills increase over the coming months.

In October 2025, several new and revised energy charges started to come into effect, following Ofgem's restructure for how the network costs to maintain a modern, low-carbon energy grid are collected.

For high- and seasonal-users of electricity, the increase may be substantial and add significant costs to electricity bills.

Register to attend NFU Energy's free webinar to find out:

  • what is happening
  • what NFU Energy and the NFU are working on to help make this easier, and
  • the steps that you can take to minimise the impact.

Meet the speakers:

  • NFU Chief Adviser (Crop and Plant Production) Lee Abbey
  • NFU Energy Head of Sales Carlene Goff
  • NFU Energy Head of Utility Contract Sales Joshua Robinson, and
  • NFU Energy Energy Account Management Team Leader Edward Kimberley.

The panel will talk through the changes coming into effect, discuss what the effects for high-energy users will be and what can be done to limit their impact on your bills, plus what it means for everyone else who isn’t a high-energy user.

There will also be an opportunity to put your questions to the in-house experts at the end of the sessions.
