NFU Cymru has put together a briefing summarising the 2019 Bathing Waters Report published by Natural Resources Wales recently.
The report shows an improving situation year on year with all of the 105 designated Welsh bathing waters meeting the standards set by the Bathing Water Directive.
In summary:
- 83 achieving the highest European classification of excellent
- 17 achieving good classifications
- 5 classified as sufficient
- 0 classified as poor
Five additional bathing waters achieved an excellent classification in 2019 compared with the results in 2018.
