NFU Cymru Board Chairmen and delegates

NFU Cymru organisational structure:

Local branch committees within each county discuss issues and decisions that are then passed on to a full committee at each of the 11 county levels. The views of grass roots members are paramount to the success of NFU Cymru policies and decision making.

NFU Cymru Boards decide and agree policies which are then put to politicians and officials when making decisions on agricultural issues in the National Assembly. There are four main NFU Cymru Boards; LivestockMilkLess Favoured Area (LFA), and Rural Affairs. NFU Cymru also has two working groups; the Combinable Crops and Horticulture Group as well as the Next Generation Group.

Welsh delegates are also elected to represent the interests of NFU Cymru members on the Poultry, Organics, Tenant Farming and Legal Assistance Scheme groups at NFU in Warwickshire.

Key Welsh policy issues rest with NFU Cymru Council.

NFU Cymru Poultry Representative

Victoria Shervington-Jones_50765

Victoria Shervington-Jones, Monmouthshire

Victoria runs a free range egg business – Country Fresh Eggs, with her family, and has two children aged 4 and 3. The poultry business consists of 39,500 layers, a packing plant and two delivery vans, allowing the business to have full integration of the food supply chain – from producing, to packing and distribution. Their spread of delivery is as far east as Bristol, west to Cowbridge and north to Abergavenny.

Victoria visits schools and attends events to talk to members of the public about free range egg production. She has accompanied ‘Cows On Tour’ on various occasions, taking chickens and baby chicks into schools for children to see.
