09 - July - 2008NFU FOOD AND FARMING ROADSHOW VISITS ROYAL WELSH SHOW
Celebrity farmer, Johnny Ball, and his NFU Food and Farming Roadshow will be visiting the Royal Welsh Show, in Builth Wells this week.
Johnny Ball, famous for his poems about the Show in years gone by, will be on hand to entertain and inform the crowds next to the main ring from the Monday right through to the Thursday.
The NFU Food and Farming Roadshow is touring the UK this summer. It is aimed at raising public awareness of British agriculture, putting a face to farming and explaining what farmers do.
The roadshow will inform people about the origins of their food and visitors will be able to milk the roadshow’s life-size model cow, Annabel and visit the friendly farm club website as well as picking up some free goodies.
There’s also a serious chance to learn about the principles behind the Red Tractor ‘Assured Food Standards’ logo that appears on assured British food.
NFU Cymru President, Dai Davies, always looks forward to welcoming Johnny Ball back to Wales. He said, “Johnny Ball is an asset to the NFU. In a subtle and entertaining way he informs all ages about what we do as farmers and how their food is produced. It is always worth a visit to the NFU Food and Farming Roadshow.”
