Dai Davies - President

NFU Cymru President is Dai Davies, a dairy farmer from Whitland in Carmarthenshire. Mr Davies farms 360 acres at Llwyndewi Isaf farm and is married with two daughters. He has been an NFU member for the past 34 years and has held a number of positions within NFU Cymru including Chairman of Carmarthenshire Milk Committee and the County Chairman. Mr Davies was previously Vice President for four years. He is also involved within the Court Service as Justice of the Peace.

 

Edmund Bailey - Vice President

Edmund Bailey, the Vice President of NFU Cymru, farms 2,800 acres in partnership with his brother, Will, on the outskirts of the village of Llanbedr, in the county of Meirionnydd. They have 2,200 Welsh mountain ewes and one hundred sucklers. Ed’s wife, Helen, is a magistrate and farmer in her own right.  They have son, Edmund and a daughter, Sarah. Edmund is a Board member of Hybu Cig Cymru.

 

Mary James - Director

Mary James is the Director of NFU Cymru and is based in Builth Wells. She has overall responsibility for the management, resources and policy direction of NFU Cymru. She was previously the Deputy Director and Head of Policy in NFU Cymru for nine years. She lives in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire and has always had a keen interest in the agricultural industry. Mrs James gained a BSc honours degree in Agricultural Economics at the University College of Wales Aberystwyth. In July 2002 she was awarded a prestigious fellowship from the Royal Agricultural Societies in recognition of further contribution to the agricultural industry in , an advancement to the fellowship she received in 1996.

 

Deputy Director - Post Vacant

Heads up NFU Cymru’s policy work and assists the director in the management of NFU Cymru and its resources.
