University Lecturer to address Glamorgan NFU Cymru Conference

10 Jan 2012

Prysor Williams, a Lecturer in Environmental Management at Bangor University, will be guest speaker at Glamorgan NFU Cymru Annual Conference on Wednesday, 25 January 2012.

Starting at 7.30pm the meeting will be held at the Grove Golf Club, Cornelly. Prysor is a farmer’s son from Pandy Tudur, near Llanrwst and is closely involved with running the farm. He recently collaborated with NFU Cymru to publish papers on Bluetongue in ‘The Veterinary Record’ and on sheep scab control in ‘Preventative Veterinary Medicine’.

Prysor will speak about his ongoing projects which include developing an alternative strategy for dealing with fallen livestock; investigating the potential of anaerobic digestion to reduce the carbon footprint of agriculture and as a pollution abatement technology; and quantifying the environmental footprint of the red meat sector in Wales relative to industry aspirations.

Stephen James, NFU Cymru Deputy President will also provide an NFU Cymru update.

Andrew Edwards, the newly elected Glamorgan NFU Cymru County Chairman said, “We are most grateful to Prysor Williams for agreeing to come and speak at the conference and also to HSBC Bank for sponsoring the event. I hope we will get a good turnout of local NFU Cymru members. Please also encourage your friends and neighbours to come along.”
