Farmers to be given guidance on cross compliance issues

23 Aug 2010
Representatives from the Welsh Assembly Government’s Farm Liaison Service will give a presentation at the next Monmouthshire NFU Cymru county meeting on Thursday, 2 September 2010, at the Alice Springs Golf Club, Usk.

Starting at 7.30pm, Rita Jones and Robert Owen, who both work for the Welsh Assembly Government, will give farmers present guidance on how to avoid farm cross compliance penalties arising from Bovine TB and sheep inspections. They will also be able to answer any questions regarding the requirements of compulsory electronic sheep tagging and recording, which came into force on 1 January 2010.

Alan Williams, NFU Cymru County Chairman for Monmouthshire, said, “We are very grateful to both Farm Liaison Officers for agreeing to come and give a presentation at the meeting. I hope we will get a good turnout of local NFU Cymru members. Please also encourage your friends and neighbours to come along.”
