Agriculture Deputy Minister to Speak at Brecon & Radnor Conference

Alun Davies AM, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and European Programmes, will be guest speaker at the Brecon and Radnor NFU Cymru Annual County Conference on Monday, 16 January 2012.

Gwyn PriceHeld at the International Pavilion, on the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells at 7.30pm, NFU Cymru members are invited to listen to the Deputy Minister.

Alun Davies was elected to the National Assembly for Wales in May 2007 and has sat on a number of National Assembly Committees, including the Rural Development Sub-Committee where he was elected as Chairman. Since re-election in 2011, he was appointed as Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and European Programmes.

He is now responsible for the provision of support for farmers in Wales, including the administration of the CAP, promotion of agri-environmental schemes in Wales and developing and promoting the agri-food sector in Wales.
Edmund Bailey, NFU Cymru President, will also be present and will provide an update on the work of NFU Cymru.

Gwyn Price outgoing Brecon and Radnor NFU Cymru County Chairman said, “We are very grateful to the Deputy Minister for agreeing to come and speak at the conference and also to HSBC Bank PLC for sponsoring the event. I hope we will get a good turnout of local NFU Cymru members. Please also encourage your friends and neighbours to come along.”
